3D Rendering Commissions

Zhaan's Lightsaber Cutaway by Turbulence1973 Amiras Lightsaber by RisiaVyle by Ironcore33 Ancient Bane 3D by Dimitian

What is needed from you is:

:bulletgreen: A design of your own making. Designs (parts or complete) from other artist used without permission will be declined. Also if you need a model for your 3D class homework, forget it - do your own rendering.
:bulletgreen: If describing the model, please note materials, color, size, shape, etc. Make sure you note ALL design elements before submitting your commission, this will ensure that I don't have to modify/rebuild completed parts. I stopped reading minds a long time ago, so be detailed.
:bulletgreen: I have placed Carrara's base material libraries in my Scrapbook Library if you need to look at materials. jamesvillanueva.deviantart.com…
:bulletgreen: Your have your choice of the following scenes 1 through 15 fav.me/d3dldvz . Scene 1 will be the default scene if not specified.
:bulletgreen: Payment accepted though PayPal ONLY. Cost via Paypal direct will be $20.00 US.
:bulletgreen: If you want the 3D models that is a separate cost. You are only paying for a render of the model not the original 3D model.
:bulletgreen: Have any questions? Please feel free to ask before submitting your commission via Note.

What you get is:
:bulletgreen: A couple test renders will be done to make any adjustments prior to final render.
:bulletgreen: The final rendered image can contain up to two close up views of the same model.
:bulletgreen: Final image size will be from 4096x3072 to 6400x3600 in the format or your choice (.jpg .png etc.) with no watermarks. The final render will not be posted on my dA page or website but will be e-mailed or posted for pickup in a non-public directory.
:bulletgreen: Any additional renders will be $5 per render.

3D Printable Model Files

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 29, 2015, 8:37 AM
Recently I have been getting some questions regarding 3D printable models that I have built - specifically if I could give or sell the original 3D model files that I have built so that they can be printed by someone that owns or has access to a 3D printer. Sorry but the answer is "no."

There are three reasons: The first is that even though the person asking says they just are going to print one copy for their cosplay costume, what guarantee do I have that the file will not be offered for sale through an online store, like TurboSquid or Shapeways, or mass printed for profit? Sorry but that's why I have these printable models available for purchase on my Shapeways store. At some point I would like to buy my own 3D printer but for now Shapeways is the best option.

The second reason I don't give or sell them is different 3D printing processes require different wall thickness tolerances or alignments. Models that can be printed using a laser/nylon powder process might not be as easily printed using an extruded filament process.

And finally the third reason is what rights do I have as the file's creator when it is 3D printed? This is a gray area and as 3D printers inch their way closer to Star Trek type matter replicators, what can be made will be a debate for the future.

Here is an interesting article on Copyright and 3D Printing worth a read

A SciFi geek at heart, my love of modeling started with plastic model kits, but when that became too expensive I stopped. After tech school I got a job as a drafter at an electrical engineering office which turned into being a CADD operator. For those curious AutoCAD 2.17 was the first real CADD program I used. Using AutoCAD I transitioned into 3D modeling and animation using 3D Studio and later Carrara. Now I am hoping to land a job that I can use my 3D modeling/graphic abilities.
